LUDLOW: AN ILLUSTRATED TIMELINE

Ludlow is a pair of accordion-fold books outlining the events of one of the most violent conflicts that has ever taken place on United States soil, The Ludlow Tent Colony Massacre. Ludlow is a project heavily informed by the great works of art created by the Mexican Muralists and the Social Realists of the 20th century, employing both the compositional and thematic elements that drove these movements, all the while marrying them to a completely contemporary moment through modern means of illustration. More than an exercise in reviving old technique, Ludlow is a piece that strives to illustrate an injustice that has gone unacknowledged by the gatekeepers of history for far too long, and serves as a reminder of the importance of standing together, even in the face of impossible odds.
