The School of Design at UArts redefines what it means to educate a 21st century designer. We celebrate the reality that the boundaries between all sorts of contemporary design practices are more permeable than ever before and that a modern designer needs a greatly expanded skill set at their disposal. With this in mind, the School of Design initiates innovation and empowers students to pursue their passions, build core values, broaden their design exposure and become the design leaders of the future.

School of Design programs work together, providing students depth in their disciplines while broadening their design exposure. This academic model best prepares students for future career opportunities.

Our longstanding Design Internship Program gives students valuable, real-life experience in their individual disciplines while the school hosts numerous exhibitions, lectures, workshops and field trips to forge relationships between students and creative professionals. UArts Designers graduate prepared to make significant cultural contributions, reinvent the way we live through creative problem solving, run their own businesses, create work for diverse communities and public spaces and effect social change through self-expression.
